Some highlights from this week

Year 6 English Challenge

On Wednesday afternoon, Amalie, Elliott, Annabelle and Felicity took part in the year 6 Cambridgeshire English challenge final, having won their heat a few weeks ago.  They worked brilliantly together to answer some very challenging questions.  Congratulations to the team for reaching the final – we are very proud of you.

Children in Baltic class have enjoyed sharing stories.

And the school elf has been up to mischief!

Festive Friday and Goodbye to Mrs Pickard

Next Friday, 17th December, we are going to be hosting ‘Festive Friday’ to celebrate Mrs Pickard’s last day here at Fulbourn Primary School.  Claire has been instrumental in the success of the school and made a huge difference to the children and families over many years as Headteacher.   We will spend the day celebrating Mrs Pickard and having lots of festive fun.

On Friday 17th, children are invited to wear any and all festive outfits, hats, jumpers, sparkles and finery.  We want to send Mrs Pickard off in style!  We have a day of fun planned include class parties in the afternoon.

In lieu of any leaving gifts, Mrs Pickard would like to raise money for her chosen charity Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH).  All of the money we collect will support the hospital to provide world-class care to seriously ill children. If you would like to make a donation or find out more about the work of GOSH, please use the following link:

Book Amnesty Week 13th – 17th December 2021

Here at Fulbourn we are passionate about reading and invest carefully, with the support of our fantastic PTFA, to ensure we have effective reading schemes to support the children’s learning.  We would  like to ask for your help now, as many of our books are missing and we think they may have been kept at home by mistake.  Please check around the house, in your children’s bedrooms, under sofas and on the bookshelves.  We know they are hiding somewhere!

Next week we are having a Book Amnesty Week.  Please return any school books you find hiding at home.  They can be given directly to the class teacher or left inside your child’s bag.  We will be really happy to have them back in school and on our bookshelves again for other children to use.

With thanks,

Miss Meyer
