Starting the School Year
We have had a really lovely start to the school year. And despite the strangeness of the current situation, the children are settling in very well. It has been wonderful to see all our smiling children in school and learning.
We’d like to thank the entire Fulbourn School Community for all of your efforts in pulling together and supporting each other during this time. There are still some logistical issues we are working very hard on, to see if we can make improvements. Thank you to everyone who has raised concerns and made suggestions. We do appreciate your input.
In particular, thank you for ensuring your children have been coming to school at the right time, it is essential that we keep the classes separate from each other (especially at drop off and pick up), and the efforts that families are putting in to help with this are greatly appreciated. With this in mind, we are hoping to move towards shortening the window between the drop off times in the morning. This is only possible if drop off continues to be as efficient as it has been so far. We are also looking at the logistics of setting up a one-way system by the Main Gate and Cycle Gate to help reduce congestion on the pavement.
These changes won’t be implemented next week, but we hope to implement them from Monday the 21st. We will be in touch with more information before making the change.
We are also looking at possible solutions for safely managing bikes and scooters coming on to the school site, and we’ll be in touch as soon as we are able to give you more information.
Seesaw is the platform we are using for home learning and for learning consolidation in school too. We are sending out Seesaw codes and information today. If you haven’t received yours by Monday then please contact the office.
If your child is not having a packed lunch from Lunchtime UK, please remember to send them to school with a healthy lunch. All children will need to bring a snack as we are not currently providing fruit and vegetable snacks in school.
Please remember that lunches must not contain nuts or citrus and they should not contain sweets.
We now have an absence form on our website. https://www.fulbournprimaryschool.co.uk/student-absence/
Please complete this as soon as possible in the morning if your child is unable to attend school. If you fill out the form, you won’t need to phone or email the office as the form asks the reason for the absence.
If you would like to request student leave then contact the office and we will send you the Leave Request form for you to complete. We will not be accepting hard copies of this form.
If you have any questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Families of children who have joined the school this year have completed an online admission form which asked for medical / dietary information.
For all children who are returning to us, we have kept on record any information that was given to us previously. In order to ensure that the information we have is still accurate, we are asking families to complete a medical information form for all returning children. Please do this even if you don’t think anything has changed since last year. We will replace the information we have on file with the new information. The form can be found on our website: https://www.fulbournprimaryschool.co.uk/medical-information/. Contact the office if you have any questions.
If your child requires any medication, please notify the school office as soon as possible (if you have not already done so).
We are working on updating our website. Please do look in the Parents / Carers section for information on uniform, lunches, free school meals, wraparound care, term dates etc.
La Jolie Ronde French classes will resume live online very soon. Lessons are open to pupils of all ages and there are currently spaces in a number of classes.
If you think your child might be interested in a free taster session or if you would like further information, please do not hesitate to contact Kristine on 07721 633808 or by email: email@example.com.
