Here are some photos of what the children have been up to recently. We wanted to celebrate all of their achievements and have been really excited to see the number of children that are getting engaged with Seesaw to post work, revise topics or pursue areas of interest. Feel free to remind your child that they can enter any work they produce or post photos of achievements as a submission for the Head Teachers’ Award.
Although we are not able to enjoy making music together by singing as we normally would during music lessons, we have been using our weekly music lesson time to deepen our listening and musical appreciation skills! In Year 2 we have learned about Florence Nightingale, so we listened to some music by Clara Schumann, who was almost her exact contemporary. As you can see, the music inspired some children to dance along in the classroom!
Four children received awards this week for their fantastic efforts while on the Cambridge Launchpad trip to TWI last February! Although it feels like a long time ago now, the children enjoyed being reminded of this trip and the things they learned while there! Well done to all four - Rose Brown, Anvi Anand, Florence Stannard and Oliver Probert. We hope one day to be resuming these trips again!
We have enabled dinner money balance reminders. You can check your child’s dinner balance via My Child At School and you can also make payments there (please remember that we are unable to accept cash or cheques). If you have any questions regarding the balance then please don’t hesitate to contact the office.
On behalf of all the office and teaching staff, we would like to say a very big thank you to all the parents and carers who engaged so well with our first online parents’ evening. While there were a few issues with regard to My Child at School and Zoom, they were very few and far between. Your patience in adapting to the new way of working has been wonderful and we really appreciate the team effort that has made these possible.
If you missed it, for whatever reason, then class teachers will be in touch shortly to arrange a suitable time for a Zoom call or a phone call.
Thank you to all the parents / carers who have been so considerate at drop off and pick up. We have been encouraged to see people wearing face coverings and keeping distance from other households. We do understand how challenging the staggered drop off / pick up and multiple gates have been and we thank you all for your support. With case numbers rising nationally and locally we do want to continue to be aware.
We are recruiting for a Covid Operations Assistant (37 hours per week, 9 month fixed contract) to provide administrative support in the office. Please see our website for details. https://www.fulbournprimaryschool.co.uk/current-vacancies/
