We have had a lovely week this week despite the weather turning. The children have begun to get into new routines and have been using Seesaw with increasing confidence to communicate their achievements and complete their homework. We would like to thank you all for your ongoing support. We would like to highlight a few reminders below:
Please remember to ensure your children have nice warm clothes for school. They are welcome to bring in Wellington Boots for when they are outside if it’s wet and muddy. These will stay in school in the cloakroom. On PE days, children are welcome to wear warmer layers over their PE kit.
We will be running Parents’ Evening remotely this year. We are in the process of arranging the logistics and we hope to use My Child At School for booking and to use Zoom for the calls. We will be in touch next week with more details of how the sessions themselves will work and what the booking process will be.
After a glitch in deliveries, the School Fruit and Vegetable Scheme is back up and running. Children in Key Stage 1 (Greenland, Lapland, Atlantic, Baltic, Mediterranean) will receive a fruit/vegetable snack each day. There is no cost to families for this.
On Tuesday the 8th of December the School Immunisation Team will be coming to school to administer the nasal flu vaccine. All children are entitled to the vaccination. It will not cost you anything. Please click on the link (https://tinyurl.com/y4b5bkba) to give consent.
We are still working on the logistics of safely allowing children to bring bikes and scooters to leave in school. However, we are not there yet, so we would appreciate it if children did not bring bikes or scooters to school as we don’t currently have a safe way to manage and store them.
In order to reduce congestion and prevent mixing of class bubbles at the gates please do try to stick to drop off and pick up times and try not to arrive too early.
We would like to request that parents try to avoid parking outside the main school gates between School Lane and All Saints / St Vigor’s passageway as it can make it very difficult for parents who are walking along St Vigor’s Road to maintain a social distance if they are walking around to the Office or Car Park gates. Thank you.
We would like to remind all year 6 parents that the process to apply for secondary school for next September 2021 is now open and will close on the 31st October 2020. You will need to log into the Citizen Portal to make your application. If parents do not wish to make their application online, paper application forms are available on request if they call 0345 045 1370.
