It has been great to welcome back our children and families today. We hope that you have all enjoyed the summer break. We are pleased to welcome new members of staff to the team at Fulbourn: Miss Sarah Horsman (EYFS lead), Miss Harriet Robins (Year 1 /2 teacher), Ms Libby Meyer (Reading Ambassador) and Miss Alison Monk (Child and Family Worker). We also welcome back Mrs Amy Marshall (SENCO and Middle School lead), who has returned following her maternity leave.
Thank you for your co-operation in following the new arrangements for dropping off and collecting your children at school today. We have reviewed how this worked and have decided to make some changes which should make the process smoother for everyone moving forward. From Monday 6th September we will reverse the way that everyone enters and leaves the school site. This means that you will come in through the main St. Vigor’s Road gate, walk around the school and leave via the main reception gate into the car park. For parents and children who come to school on bicycles or scooters, you can come in and leave via the side cycle gate on St. Vigor’s Road which will mean you can more easily access the cycle and scooter stores. Drop off time remains from 8.30 a.m. – 8.45 p.m. and collection time will be 3.30 – 3.45 p.m. (1.30 – 1.45 p.m. on Wednesdays).
On Monday we will welcome our new Reception children for their first part-time week in school.
Children attending morning sessions should arrive between 8:30 and 8:45 and follow the one-way system to their classroom. Parents / carers should collect their children from the main reception gate in the school car park at 11:30.
Children attending afternoon sessions should arrive at 12:30 at the main reception gate in the school car park where their teachers will collect them. Parents / carers should join the rest of the school pick up between 3:30-3:45, following the one-way system
Please note there is no afternoon session for Reception children on a Wednesday afternoon when the school is closed to children.
Apologies for any confusion: Sherwood Class PE days are Tuesdays and Thursdays.
We were delighted to resume serving hot school meals today and to have all the children sitting together for their meals (packed lunches and school meals) in the school halls. Seeing their smiling and happy faces as they collected and ate their meals and chatted with their friends today was super.
We are currently advertising to recruit additional Lunchtime Play Leaders to join our friendly staff team. Please see the copy of the job advert below. Please do share this with anyone you know who may be interested, we would be pleased to hear from you.
If you have any unwanted Reception-sized uniform, Greenland and Lapland would be very grateful to accept it. Sometimes the children get a little bit messy with their fantastic activities and so we need some spare clothes (including underwear). Please bring any donations to the drop off box outside the main office gate and we will pass them onto the Reception team.
Kids R Us, our wrap around care provider will be taking bookings without a minimum number of weekly sessions again from this term. To contact them directly please call 01223 451050 or email email@example.com. You can visit our website www.kidsrusoosc.org to sign up for breakfast, after school and holiday club.
Please see the helpful flowchart below, which advises you of the actions you need to take if you have a case of COVID in your household.
We would like to strongly encourage all of our families (anyone 11 or older) to do regular rapid testing to monitor asymptomatic transmission of COVID-19. Test kits can be ordered online for free home delivery or can be picked up for free from a number of locations including the Village Pharmacy and Fulbourn Tesco.
For any student absence, can we ask that you fill in the student absence form on the school website. There is now a quick link button on the home page.
If you choose to email, the more information you can provide, the more helpful it is to the office team. Please do not use Seesaw or any other email address to report absence.
The Cambridgeshire County Council has redesigned their online form for families wishing to check their free school meal (FSM) and Pupil Premium eligibility. Significant improvements made to the online application process enable parents/carers (in most cases) to get an instant result of the outcome of their application.
It is not necessary for parents of children who currently receive FSM to reapply; this entitlement is protected until the end of March 2022. However, applications do need to be made for younger siblings who are starting school.
The form is quick and simple to complete. Once an application has been submitted for a child, if the family do not qualify at that point, we will continue to check for future entitlement throughout that child’s school life, informing parents if they become eligible. It is vital, therefore, that schools/families inform us of any changes to their name or address.
