Fulbourn Primary School is a fabulous place to work!  We have an experienced and supportive staff team who enjoy working together and are not afraid to try new things. Staff wellbeing is important to us and staff tell us they feel well supported by leadership and each other; they love working at our school.

A safe, secure, well maintained and welcoming environment is key in supporting the delivery of our school curriculum and in ensuring the safe, smooth and effective running of the school.  As caretaker, you will be contributing to our children receiving the best primary school experience and outcomes.  We are fortunate to have a beautiful school site, which is the perfect setting for lots of outdoor learning, making good use of the natural environment including our pond, allotment and forest school areas.  Inside, we have a wonderful reading ‘Hive’, DT room and community art gallery.

We are seeking to recruit a Caretaker to join our team from September 2024.  The main focus of the role is the management of  the school premises, including health and safety compliance, maintenance of the buildings, plant and grounds, security and general site duties however work in a school is varied and no two days are the same.  You will need to be flexible and able to embrace adapting and responding to this variety.  Some evening and weekend work is required to provide access to the school as may reasonably be needed.  A background in site management/maintenance is required and training will be available for school specific systems and processes.  We are committed to staff professional development and will provide you with the right support to help you thrive in your role.

The Caretaker is required to live on site and a two bedroom house adjacent to the school is included, with a heavily subsidised rent.

Visits are encouraged and we will be keen to  welcome you.  Please email our School Business Manager, Jo Bouttell, to arrange an appointment—

There is no closing date for this post as applications will be considered on receipt and interviews may occur at any stage.  With this in mind we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.

Fulbourn Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.  Appointments to this post will be subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.
