We are diverse school and cherish the remarkable variety of faiths and cultures that come together under our roof. We take a philosophical approach to Religious Education and consider big questions. We explore a strand of belief in one of the main world religions by asking and discussing questions about the faith and its meanings. We do this to develop children’s thinking skills, encouraging them to develop and examine their own beliefs, in their exploration of Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism and Sikhism. We might, for example, study the concepts of friendship, community or kindness. In summary, we foster an ability to reflect and understand and to develop tolerance and respect for other people’s beliefs.
