Summer Reading Challenge

Fulbourn Library will once again be running the Summer Reading Challenge throughout the school holidays. Young people up to, and including, the age of eleven can sign up in Fulbourn Library from Saturday 11th July 2026, read six books during the summer holidays, come to the library to register those books with the Reading Challenge team and receive stickers for their collection folder.  The team is made up of library volunteers and young people, several of whom have been participants in the challenge during their primary school years. We encourage the children to talk about the books they have read to the volunteers.  Children who successfully complete the challenge will receive a certificate and a medal, presented either at school or in the library. The last day of the challenge is Saturday 5th September 2026.

The library is open 3.00 - 5.00 p.m. every weekday except Wednesday and from 10.00 a.m. - 12 noon on Saturday.

It is also important to note that the number of participants able to take part is limited due to the restricted supply of Reading Challenge materials from the County Library Service. So, it will be on a first come, first served basis.

Children can also participate online at

summerreadingchallenge.org.uk

but regrettably  cannot be awarded medals or certificates.
