If you are in receipt of Universal Credit, your child(ren) may be entitled to free school meals, saving you up to £530 per year per child.

For children who qualify for targeted free school meals, the school receives additional funding of up to £1,320 per year.  This is called Pupil Premium.  Children who are entitled to Pupil Premium are also eligible for other help in school, including reduced contributions to some school trips and free school uniform.

Please be aware that the DfE is making changes to the way that the free school meal system works from 1st September 2026.  If your child is currently entitled to receive FSM, this will end on 31st August 2026 and you must reapply in order for them to continue to receive a free meal.
