Sea Monsters with Nigel Marven

a special family event on

Saturday 14 November 2026, 10am–5pm,

at Fossils Galore Museum, 60 High Street, March, Cambridgeshire, PE15 9LD

Tickets: £5 per person, including museum entry.

Visitors can meet TV wildlife presenter and museum patron Nigel Marven, explore prehistoric sea monsters and see a Psittacosaurus skeleton. There will also be face painting, music and Jurassic Park Jeeps

Fossils Galore Museum is a community organisation dedicated to accessible palaeontology and Earth science education, including neurodivergent-friendly experiences.

Important e-scooter information from Cambridgeshire County Council Road Safety Education

Cambridgeshire Police are continuing to advise that the use of non-authorised e-scooters on public roads is not lawful. The only e-scooters that are permitted to be used are the official council schemes, which are unavailable to under 18-year-olds.

e-scooters are classified as motor vehicles and need to be fully compliant, with those riding having a driving licence and insurance. As you are unable to obtain e-scooter insurance they are not to be used on public roads or in public areas. Official schemes do have insurance in effect, and check driving licences.

There is an increasing number of collisions involving e-scooters, so this information is provided to safeguard the public.

Children are often at increased risk as they don’t have the understanding of roads, lack experience etc. If stopped they could face a fine, penalty points and seizure of the e-scooter.

The team wishes to advise parents and carers to consider the risks involved in e-scooter use, and protect children by prohibiting their use. As Christmas approaches, the advice is that they are not suitable presents for use in public spaces.

The risk of fire during charging of private e-scooters can also cause serious human and physical harm.

Cambridgeshire Police will be completing enforcement action in our community, including near to schools. Any person using an e-scooter will be stopped, have the vehicle seized and may face further legal action.

Cambridge United Schools' Vouchers

The vouchers offer one adult and one child ticket for just £12 when using the code on the voucher. The offer is available for the following home fixtures at the Cledara Abbey Stadium:

Saturday 26 September – 3pm - AFC Wimbledon
Saturday 10 October – 3pm - Blackpool
Saturday 24 October – 3pm - Plymouth Argyle
Saturday 21 November – 3pm - Stockport County

We also have a special offer for Cambridge United Women, with one adult and one child able to attend for just £6. This is available for their upcoming game at the Cledara Abbey Stadium, as well as games at their new home, Grange Road Stadium.

These are great opportunities for families to come along and enjoy a game together. We hope to see some of you at the Abbey or Grange Road this season!

We are a local grassroots football club in Cambridge and we are looking for new female players of all ages to add to our existing girls teams. We currently have six teams with girls aged from 8 to 15 years old.

Exercise is so important for everybody, but for children especially in this growing digital world. Football particularly aids children with their communication, teamwork, and overall confidence.

Did you know that the NHS Pharmacy First Service enables children and adults to get convenient access to healthcare advice and treatment where appropriate, for seven common conditions without the potential delay of having to wait for a GP appointment? Accessing the service may mean that we can help children feel better and get back to school as quickly as possible, as well as supporting parents/carers to also get better if they are unwell with one of the conditions covered under the service.

There is no need to make an appointment; parents or carers can pop into their local Boots pharmacy with their child and ask for help under the service.

Support for the following conditions can be accessed under the service, free of charge (unless NHS prescription charges apply):

Common condition	Patient eligibility
Earache	1 to 17 years
Impetigo	1 year and over
Infected insect bites and stings	1 year and over
Sore throats	5 years and over
Sinusitis	12 years and over
Uncomplicated urinary tract	Women 16 to 64 years
Shingles	18 years and over

Community Pharmacy England, who represent community pharmacy owners in England, have created a suite of resources for use by schools; you can use any that would suit your methods of communication with parents/carers to raise awareness of this important service. Resources include:

ü Downloadable posters which can be displayed in reception/waiting areas or staff rooms.

ü Downloadable flyers which could be included in school bags or left in reception/waiting area.

ü Digital screen options which could be played if you have a digital screen in your reception/waiting area.

ü Template news stories that could be included on your school website or in newsletters; and

ü Template letter to email out to parents/carers highlighting the Pharmacy First service.

Weenie Warblers Baby and Toddler group would like to invite you to join us on Friday mornings during term time. We are a small parent run group welcoming parents, grandparents and carers with their children under school age.

You can find us in the Great Wilbraham Village Hall between 9.15-11.45 with toys, books, tea & biscuits (main selling point for some of the toddlers!), and a chance for both children and adults to socialise.

There is a small charge of £1.50 per family to keep us running and the biscuits in stock. Please also share with local parents of children under school age who may not have older siblings at school that may like somewhere different to try on a Friday morning.

We look forward to seeing you there.
