  • Christmas Illuminations - Raising funds for Children with Cancer UK

    Published 08/12/25

We are a wonderful little street called Geoffrey Bishop Avenue in a Cambridgeshire village called Fulbourn. On our street lives the bravest little girl. Her name is Freya.

Freya has been battling with a brain tumour and the consequences of this terrible cancer since she was 18 months old. Now 8 years old and following multiple relapses and complications, Freya has been through what no child should ever endure.

Freya continues her cancer journey with life saving immunotherapy and this Christmas, our little street would like to organise a wonderful glow up of Christmas decorations and lights to cheer Freya and also her little sister, mum and dad.

We would like to take this opportunity to raise as much money as possible for a charity very close to Freya's mum and dad's heart; Children with Cancer UK.

Please do wander down and enjoy our illuminated avenue this Christmas from the 6th of December. And most importantly please donate generously to this cause as we hope that, one day, better treatment will be available so that children do not have to suffer, survive cancer and go on to fulfil their lives.

For 35 years, Children with Cancer UK has funded much needed research into the causes of childhood cancers, and the development of better, kinder treatments as well as funding initiatives that support children and their families through cancer treatment and beyond.  Their work has contributed significantly to a marked increase in childhood cancer survival rates and improved quality of life for ill children.

    Thank you all so much.

You can donate via the Justgiving page by following this link.
