Wright’s Clock Land (the wonderful local charity that has been funding projects across Fulbourn - including several at the school) will be running a Children’s Art Competition in the run up to this year’s Fulbourn Winter Festival on Sunday 7th December.
We want to see Fulbourn through the eyes of the children, so we are asking you either to colour in one of our images or create your own picture of Fulbourn using whatever pens, paints or materials you fancy.
Bring your picture along to our stand at the Winter Festival (look out for our logo) where all entries will receive a free treat and a chance to win a fabulous prize.
Pictures should be A4 in size and please don’t forget to include your Name, Age and School / Nursery on your picture. You can download copies here: Church High Street Six Bells
Paper copies of the images available from the school office, or create your own!

After a very successful first year of half-term workshops, the Bottisham Music Centre is going to be opening a Saturday morning music school on 20th September. We are a local grassroots football club in Cambridge and we are looking for new female players of all ages to add to our existing girls teams. We currently have six teams with girls aged from 8 to 15 years old.
Exercise is so important for everybody, but for children especially in this growing digital world. Football particularly aids children with their communication, teamwork, and overall confidence.
Trumpington Football Club
NHS Pharmacy First Service
Did you know that the NHS Pharmacy First Service enables children and adults to get convenient access to healthcare advice and treatment where appropriate, for seven common conditions without the potential delay of having to wait for a GP appointment? Accessing the service may mean that we can help children feel better and get back to school as quickly as possible, as well as supporting parents/carers to also get better if they are unwell with one of the conditions covered under the service.
There is no need to make an appointment; parents or carers can pop into their local Boots pharmacy with their child and ask for help under the service.
Support for the following conditions can be accessed under the service, free of charge (unless NHS prescription charges apply):
|
Common condition |
Patient eligibility |
|
Earache |
1 to 17 years |
|
Impetigo |
1 year and over |
|
Infected insect bites and stings |

|
Sore throats |

|
Sinusitis |
12 years and over |
|
Uncomplicated urinary tract |
Women 16 to 64 years |
|
Shingles |

A summary of the service is available as an animation and more information can also be found at nhs.uk/thinkpharmacyfirst as well as at https://www.boots.com/healthhub/a-z-services/pharmacy-first.
Community Pharmacy England, who represent community pharmacy owners in England, have created a suite of resources for use by schools; you can use any that would suit your methods of communication with parents/carers to raise awareness of this important service. Resources include:
ü Downloadable posters which can be displayed in reception/waiting areas or staff rooms.
ü Downloadable flyers which could be included in school bags or left in reception/waiting area.
ü Digital screen options which could be played if you have a digital screen in your reception/waiting area.
ü Template news stories that could be included on your school website or in newsletters; and
ü Template letter to email out to parents/carers highlighting the Pharmacy First service.
All these resources are available at cpe.org.uk/infopharmacyservices
Weenie Warblers Baby and Toddler group would like to invite you to join us on Friday mornings during term time. We are a small parent run group welcoming parents, grandparents and carers with their children under school age.
You can find us in the Great Wilbraham Village Hall between 9.15-11.45 with toys, books, tea & biscuits (main selling point for some of the toddlers!), and a chance for both children and adults to socialise.
There is a small charge of £1.50 per family to keep us running and the biscuits in stock. Please also share with local parents of children under school age who may not have older siblings at school that may like somewhere different to try on a Friday morning.
We look forward to seeing you there.
