Writing in Early Years

As children become more confident, engaged and excited about mark making, they learn that writing can have purpose and can be meaningful. During this time, children begin to develop links between their own writing and real-world examples. In reception, we offer support in ways that maintain children’s love of writing and its meaning, through a range of contexts, including notes, lists, letters, stories.
